⚓ Captain's exams in Croatia
Obtain a boat driving license according to Croatian regulations
At Action Yachts, we will help you obtain the international "Boat Skipper Category B" captain's license, issued by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of Croatia.
After successfully passing the exam, you will receive an official boating license, valid for recreational sailing at sea throughout the EU and beyond.
🧭 Theoretical part
Theoretical preparation takes place in the form of a weekend course in Biograd na Moru (Marina Kornati).
During the course, you will learn all the areas necessary to successfully pass the exam:
Maritime navigation and safety rules at sea
Navigation and orientation by maps
Using basic navigation devices
Radio communication (VHF radio stations)
Meteorology and first aid
Mandatory vessel equipment
Emergency procedures at sea
The course will thoroughly prepare you for the theoretical exam, which you take before the Croatian Harbour Master's Office.
⚓ Practical part
Practical training also takes place in Biograd na Moru and lasts approximately 4 hours.
During the practical part you will learn:
Checking the boat and equipment before departure
Port maneuvers (sailing, landing, anchoring)
Vessel control in operation
Maneuvering in various weather conditions
Solving crisis situations at sea
🪶 Boat Skipper B exam
The exam takes place at the Croatian Captain's Office and is conducted in Croatian or English.
It includes two parts:
Theoretical exam (nautical regulations, navigation, meteorology, radio communications)
Practical test (verification of vessel control)
After successful completion, you will receive a "Boat Skipper Category B" license, which entitles you to drive:
motor or sailing vessel up to 30 GT (approx. 15 m) in length,
without engine power limitation,
with the possibility of recreational and commercial use (within the applicable category).
The license is recognized throughout the EU and has unlimited validity.

An extended version of the course for those who want to gain experience on a larger motor yacht.
The course includes:

The price includes all fees including the exam.
If you already operate a boat, you can only register for the practical skills test.
